    After our phone conversation we will either arrange for an intake and assessment appointment or place you on our waiting list.

    After our initial contact we will email you an intake form to complete. Please let us know if you find forms tricky and we can support you with this.

  • No. Sunbird Therapy doesn’t currently have a waitlist.

  • Therapy sessions:

    NDIS fee $193.99 : for self and plan managed participants.

    Medicare fee $200: Medicare rebate might apply for 6-10 sessions per calendar year.

    Private fee $200: No referral required

    Travel: work related travel fee

    $1.00 per kilometre

    $193.99/hr travel time or part there off (as per NDIS guidelines).

    Clinical Supervision fee: $200 plus GST.

  • No. We are not NDIS registered and therefore can only receive referrals for self-and plan-managed participants.

    We are registered with the Australian Association for Social Workers as per the NDIS guidelines.

  • Yes, if you would like to receive Medicare subsidised sessions you will need to seek a mental health care plan from your GP.

    Please note that there is a gap fee payable by the client/patient for this.

  • At first incident we ask that you speak directly with your therapist. We welcome feedback and respect your feelings.

    If you feel this isn’t an option or there is a serious complaint, please contact the Australian Association of Social Workers and they will assist you with you complaint.

  • Sunbird Therapy and Consulting has a Short Cancellation Policy and will claim !00% of the agreed fee associated with the scheduled appointment and the terms of the service agreement. A cancellation is considred a short notice cancellation if the participant/client:

    1. does not show up for the scheduled appointment or support (up to 30 minutes late), or is not present at the agreed place and within a reasonable time when the provider is travelling to deliver a support; or

    2. has given less that two (2) clear business days’ notice for a support or appointment.
